Luther Donald Hovermale, 89, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation and Nurrsing.
Born July 9, 1918, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Homer and Mazy F. Bohrer Hovermale.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Myrce Werdebaugh Hovermale, on Dec. 6, 1993.
He attended public schools in Morgan County.
He worked as a lineman with Western Union.
He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one sister, Peggy Cohill of Inverness, Fla.; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Elsie Hovermale, Eloise Carbaugh, Virginia Rankin and Mary Almon; and five brothers, Roy Hovermale, Irvin Hovermale, Chester Hovermale, Paul Hovermale and Fred Hovermale.
Services will be Thursday at 8 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Timothy Close will officiate. Private burial will be at Highland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.

Justin Wayne Green, 21, of 929 Frederick St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Laurel (Md.) Hospital.
Born Aug. 15, 1986, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of Austin Wayne Green of Marlowe, W.Va., and Pippa Quinn Frazier Spencer of Hagers- town.
He was employed by Spencer's Contracting of Hagerstown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Jade L. Green of Welaka, Fla.; stepfather, Walter Spencer of Hagerstown; maternal grandfather, Norman Frazier of Farmville, Va.; paternal grandmother, Gloria Green of Marlowe; maternal stepgrandmother, Gwen Roberts of Farmville; one brother, Bradley A. Green of Hagerstown; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Emma Sprecher, and paternal grandfather, Austin Green.
Graveside services will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mont Alto, Pa., on Thursday at 11 a.m. Mr. Casey Strunk will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Elzy "Buck" Delane Longerbeam Jr., 50, of Charles Town, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born May 24, 1958, in Ranson, W.Va., he was the son of Elzy Delane Longerbeam Sr. and the late Betty Brackett Longerbeam.
He was a member of the Mission Tabernacle Holiness Church.
He retired from the Loudoun County Government in Leesburg, Va.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Debbie K. Longerbeam, at home; two daughters, Tracey M. Longerbeam of Ranson and Stephanie L. Longerbeam, at home; six sisters, Judy Cogle of Ranson, Carolyn Weatherholtz of Evertts, Pa., Kathy Jenkins of Summit Point, W.Va., Debbie Stillwell of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Cindy Kilabrew of Summit Point and Mary Conrad of Middleway, W.Va.; one brother, Kyle Longerbeam of Harpers Ferry; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles and cousins.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home in Charles Town. The Revs. Lee Strickler and Robert Roadcap will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Lutheran Cemetery at Bolivar, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ronald "Doc" Scott Blankley, 66, died Sunday June 8, 2008 at NMS Healthcare of Hagerstown.
Born June 9, 1941, in Warfordsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late George Wilson and Hilda Helen Bishop Blankley.
He worked at U.S. Silica Co. in West Virginia.
