Greencastle bicyclist injured in U.S. 11 crash

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - A bicyclist suffered severe injuries Friday afternoon in a crash on U.S. 11, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

Police said Michael Lenman, 46, of Greencastle was hit by a 2004 Ford Econoline van at 4 p.m. near 9025 Molly Pitcher Highway.

His bicycle then hit another bicycle ridden by Jay Mills, 46, of Greencastle, police said.

Both bicyclists, who were wearing helmets, were riding north in the berm when Lenman was hit by the van driven by Melvin Koons, 78, of Chambersburg, police said.

No updates were available concerning Lenman's injuries.

Pa. man remains in hospital after crash

QUINCY, Pa. - A Waynesboro man injured in a Saturday night crash in Quincy Township, Pa., remained hospitalized Sunday night.


David P. Gelvin was listed in fair condition, according to a spokesman at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center.

Gelvin was a passenger in a 1976 Buick that went into a ditch off Mormon Church Road and hit a culvert at 8:30 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police said.

The driver - Danny Phinicie of Waynesboro - was taken to Waynesboro Hospital, police said.
