College for Kids at HCC offers two new classes

Hagerstown Community College's College for Kids summer enrichment program is offering two new classes geared toward students entering grades eight through 10 who are interested in designing three-dimensional computer games and creating/editing digital audio.

·"3D Masters -- Design Your Own Dungeon" will be offered Aug. 4 to 8. Students will learn how to create and design their own computer games, and will study how to build three-dimensional worlds using all aspects of game design, including levels, textures, modeling, animation, skinning, programming and sound effects. The cost is $164 and the class is limited to 12 students.

·"Audio Masters -- Sound Effects and Music Editing" will run from July 21 to 25. Students will learn the basics of digital audio editing, and will explore tools for capturing sound, mixing music, crafting sound effects and embellishing dialog. Students will also create an "original" motion picture soundtrack. The cost is $164 and the class is limited to 12 students.
