How did you get into your business, or what motivated you to start it? "After spending three years on the road providing education and supplies to area salons, my husband, Steve Smith, found this property in Funkstown and through it a perfect place for a salon. Our goal was to make it a place that fit with the charm of the town and a family-friendly environment where you can come and feel at home."


Previous business experience: Twenty years licensed as a senior cosmetologist, three years as a sales consultant for a national beauty distributor, Davidson's Beauty Systems.

Number of employees: Zero at this time. Looking to add one more employee.

Hours: Monday, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, noon to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Closed Sunday. Additional hours by appointment.
