Hagerstown Community College's Center for Continuing Education is offering an accelerated 60-hour real estate pre-licensing course, "Real Estate Principles and Practices," from June 23 through July 16.

Classes will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Learning Resource Center on HCC's main campus.

The course will prepare students to take the Maryland state exam, and will be taught by a team of local brokers, agents and managers from several real estate companies. Students must attend all classes and receive a 70 percent or better on the final course exam in order to be eligible to take the state examination.

The cost of the course is $279.

High Rock Studios

High Rock Studios recently won the Best In Show award at the Greater Frederick Advertising Federation's (GFAF) 2008 Addy Awards.


High Rock, a marketing and design firm with offices in Hagerstown, Frederick and Columbia, Md., won the top award for its design of the Can Manufacturing Annual Report, a publication for the Can Manufacturers Institute in Washington, D.C.

Others awards received by High Rock included a Silver Addy in Interactive Media for the Turner Photography Studio Web site; a Gold Addy and Judge's Award in Logo Design for Hendershot's Sporting Goods; a Silver Addy in B2B Web sites for the Howard County Economic Development Association Web site; and a Gold Addy for the Can Manufacturing Annual Report.

Curves of Hagerstown

The Curves women's fitness is looking for participants in the Hagerstown area to be a part of the Curves/Avon Fitness Study to ensure that everyone knows the power of the Curves workout program.

For $30, participants will be asked to complete 12 workouts over a 30-day period with a minimum of three workouts per week. In addition, participants will receive a start and finish fitness evaluation, 30 days free on, an online diet and fitness solution, and supervised training from a Curves trainer.
