Man charged with cutting man's neck

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A man was charged Thursday with cutting another man's neck with a knife in March, according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release.

Matthew Buterbaugh, 20, was charged with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and simple assault in connection with a March stabbing in the Cold Springs development in Todd Township, Pa., police said.

Four men face drug charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Four men face drug-related charges after being arrested Thursday at a residence at New York Avenue residence, according to a Martinsburg Police Department press release.

Charles Gregory Stickell, 31, of 703 New York Ave. in Martinsburg, was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance (heroin), police said.

Craig M. Johnson, 20, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Jamal Mason, 25, aka Jamal Johnson and Tremaine Mason, of no fixed address, was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (heroin), police said. Mason also was wanted in New York on outstanding drug-related charges, police said.

Orson C. Noel, 22, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (crack cocaine), police said.

The men were in Eastern Regional Jail Friday night.

A 16-year-old girl who was charged later was later released to her parents, police said.

The investigation was conducted by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, police said.

Sheriff's Department responds to calls

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following incidents recently, according to Lt. Mark Knight.

Tuesday

· At 8:15 a.m., theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 1700 block of Mount Aetna Road. A window was broken out and a Garmin GPS was taken.

· At 9:30 a.m., theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 1900 block of Mapleville Road. A window was broken out and a briefcase was taken.

· At 5 p.m., a theft was reported. A purse was taken from a vehicle.

· At 5:15 p.m., a theft was reported at Federal Express in the 11000 block of Newgate Boulevard. A wallet was taken.

Wednesday

· At 3:30 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 11000 block of Hickory School Road. A vehicle was damaged.

Thursday

· At 6:50 a.m., malicious destruction of property was reported at Springhill Suites in the 17000 block of Valley Mall Road. A window was broken out of a vehicle.

· At 6:50 a.m. and 7 a.m., malicious destruction of property was reported at Country Inn and Suites in the 17000 block of Valley Mall Road. A window was broken out of a vehicle.

Police department responds to calls

The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following incidents recently, according to spokeswoman Barbara Pickett.

Monday

· Damage to property and an attempted breaking and entering was reported at Emma K. Doub School for Integrated Arts & Technology at 1221 S. Potomac St.

Tuesday

· At 3:10 p.m., a burglary and damage to property were reported in the 100 block of Summit Avenue.

· At 6:30 p.m., a theft was reported in the 1300 block of South Potomac Street.

· At 7:24 p.m., a burglary and theft were reported in the 200 block of North Locust Street. A video camera was taken.

Wednesday

· At 8:37 a.m., a death was reported in the 1200 block of Crescent Road.

· At 9:40 a.m., a theft was reported in the 500 block of Guilford Avenue. Lawn furniture was taken.

·At 5:34 p.m., a theft was reported in the first block of West Franklin Street. A mo-ped was taken.

· At 7:10 p.m., damage to a motor vehicle was reported in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. A vehicle was scratched.

Thursday

· At 4:19 a.m., a stolen vehicle was found in the 900 block of West Washington Street.
