Part of South Potomac to be closed for milling Monday

June 07, 2008

The first block of South Potomac Street in Hagerstown will be closed to all vehicular traffic Monday beginning at 7 a.m., weather permitting, to allow a contractor to mill and overlay the street's pavement, according to a City of Hagerstown press release.

All on-street parking will be barred on the street between Washington and Antietam streets. The sidewalks on either side of the street will remain open for pedestrian traffic. Motorists approaching the work zone will be forced to detour around the area.

The contractor expects the block to remain closed to traffic until Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., according to the release.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the work zone Monday or Tuesday.

For information, call the city's Department of Engineering and Code Administration at 301-739-8577, ext. 125.
