Happy 4th, Wicky

A very special, lovable and amazing little girl, Kaeleigh "Wicky" West, will turn 4 on Sunday June 8th. Mommy, Daddy and Cheyanne love you, Wicky!!! Hope you have a fantastic "pink" birthday.

Citizens of month

In May, the following Winter Street Elementary students were nominated by their teachers to be recognized as the "Citizen of the Month!" These outstanding students demonstrated wonderful examples to others. They are "safe, responsible, respectful, and prepared" to learn, and have a positive attitude which ensures their success! It is quite an honor to become "Citizen of the Month."

Minds at Work

On May 14, Salem Avenue Elementary students participated in a Celebration of Minds at Work. Presentations were made by students to teachers, parents, and other community members to demonstrate mastery of academic material, presentation skills and critical thinking ability. The event was a big success, with 950 people in attendance.

Salvation Army golf

On June 20, The Salvation Army will be holding a golf outing "Fore the Hungry." Proceeds will benefit the daily feeding program. The cost is $75 per person or $300 per team.

Prizes will be available for first and second flights, longest drive, and closest to the pin. Younger Toyota will be offering a new Toyota for a hole-in-one on a designated hole.

Dino Detectives

Evangel Baptist Church, 17922 Broadfording Road, Hagerstown, around the corner from Best Buy, will host a Vacation Bible School carnival Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Vacation Bible School at the church for youngsters in kindergarten through high school will be Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to noon. The theme is "Dino Detectives."
