CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - A Charles Town man has been charged in a drive-by shooting that occurred on Weirick Street on May 16, according to court records.

Jose Magdiel Yulfo of 94 Gentle Breeze Lane was charged with two counts of wanton endangerment, according to Jefferson County Magistrate Court records.

Three rounds from a gun were found in the front of a home at 106 Weirick St. and one round was found in the side of a house next door, Charles Town Police Department spokesman Glenn Stevens said.

A car was spotted in the area at the time of the shooting, which occurred about 11 p.m., Stevens said.

Before the incident, Yulfo and three others were at an apartment at 106 East 10th Ave., in Ranson, W.Va., where they were smoking marijuana and playing an Xbox game, court records allege.

Police said one of the people present began receiving harassing phone calls from a caller who had stolen $1,300 from the person. The incidents prompted the shooting, police said.
