Alda M. Ridenour, 89



MARCH 31, 1919-JUNE 2, 2008

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Alda Marie Ridenour, 89, of Martinsburg, died June 2, 2008, at City Hospital.

Born March 31, 1919, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles Solomon Miller and Sarah E. Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Ridenour.

She was a homemaker.

She attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Hope E. Dugger and Faith M. Little, both of Martinsburg; one son, Joseph J. Morris of Silver Spring, Md.; five stepdaughters, Maxine Rush of Phoenix, Norma Morrison, Betty Hammersla and Jeanette Cave, all of Martinsburg, and Barbara Miller of Worthington, Ohio; one stepson, Victor E. Ridenour of Martinsburg; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-granchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Pastor John Yost will officiate.

LeRoy L. Lambert, 61



NOV. 22, 1946-JUNE 3, 2008

LeRoy Lacon "P-Nut" Lambert, 61, of Boonsboro died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 22, 1946, in Frederick, Md., he was a son of the late Benjamin L. and Helen Virginia Umbaugh Lambert.

He was employed by Model Garage Inc., Middletown, until his retirement.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of American Legion Post 10, Boonsboro.

He is survived by one daughter, April L. Martin of Douglasville, Ga.; one sister, Nancy Lambert of Boonsboro; three grandchildren; and three nephews.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Point of Rocks, Md.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Mary E. Vest, 65



MARCH 16, 1943-JUNE 3, 2008

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Ellen Vest, 65, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at City Hospital.

Born March 16, 1943, in McClure, Va., she was the daughter of the late William Buford and Bessie Stout Buford.

She was a member of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Pamela M. Hannon of Phoenix; three sons, Terry R. Klahre of Winchester, Va., Anthony E. Klahre of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Michael W. Klahre of Middleway, W.Va.; one sister, Pina J. Fleckenstein of Baltimore; one brother, James O. Vest of Wisconsin; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Venna M. Young, Dolly Stotler and Jenny Fletcher; and one brother, Willie Vest.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Jeff Owens will officiate. Burial will be at Maranatha Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.




Elmer R. Keefer, 78



JULY 4, 1929-JUNE 3, 2008

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Elmer Reed Keefer, 78, of 1745 Back Run Road, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born July 4, 1929, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas and Jessie Mellott Keefer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Keefer, who died Feb. 4, 2000.

He was a retired mechanic from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by three brothers, Robert Keefer of Big Cove Tannery, Wilbert Keefer of McConnellsburg and Charley Keefer of McConnellsburg; nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Carbaugh, Ruth Rhodes and Lillian M. Carbaugh; and one brother, Lee Keefer.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home in McConnellsburg. The Rev. William Swope will officiate.

Burial will be at Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation also will be one hour before the services Friday.

Military services will be conducted by Fulton Honor Guard.




Michael A. Eckenrode, 65



DEC. 18, 1942-JUNE 1, 2008

Michael Albert Eckenrode, 65, of 13001 Little Hayden Circle, Hagerstown, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008, at his home.

Born Friday, Dec. 18, 1942, in Gallitzin, Pa., he was the son of the late Raymond Eckenrode and the late Edna Pelliccioni Eckenrode.

He was employed with the Montgomery County Board of Education, retiring after 40 years of service. He also served in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1970. Mike was an avid Redskins fan, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Michele McNeill and husband Vincent of Queenstown, Md., and Marcie McCarthy and husband Daniel of Hagerstown; one son, Mark Eckenrode of Frederick, Md.; a sister, Rae Anne Malloy and husband Michael of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Henry Eckenrode and wife Hope of Tampa, Fla., and Jonathan Eckenrode of Cresson, Pa.; and six grandchildren, Justin Edwards, Shane Edwards, Madison McNeill, Ashley Eckenrode, Alexandra Eckenrode and Collin McCarthy.
