Anti-tobacco program
FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick County Health Department Cigarette Restitution Fund Program will offer a free training, "Towards No Tobacco Use" (Project TNT) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at Frederick County Health Department, 350 Montevue Lane, Entrance C, auditorium.
This one-day training is recommended for teachers, counselors, administrators, community leaders, and health professionals who work with adolescents. A free lunch will be provided and a stipend is available to pay for a substitute teacher.
The Project TNT curriculum is approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is one of the highest rated school-based tobacco-prevention programs today. The curriculum is targeted at students in grades five through eight and includes instruction in ways to be an active listener, tobacco-related addictions and diseases, ways to build self-esteem, coping skills and communication.
