ABC plans events



The following events are planned by the Association of Builders and Contractors:

"Exit Planning for Business Owners" program, 9 a.m. June 12, ABC office, 530 N. Locust St., Hagerstown. The cost is $25 for ABC members and $35 for nonmembers.

Vince Tantillo/Jack E. Barr 5K Run, June 14, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the old Sears building at Long Meadow Shopping Center. The entry fee is $20. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

St. Maria Goretti



A meeting will be held for families of incoming students interested in playing sports at St. Maria Goretti High School on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the school.

'Boot camp' exercise



Total Fitness Specialists Inc. will bring its "boot camp"-style outdoor exercise class to this area if there is enough interest.

Become fit, healthy and energized as you lose body fat, increase stamina and strengthen muscles. All ages (older than 10) and levels are welcome. Days, times and start dates can be determined by the participants in your area.

TOPS 77



Monday, May 27, was not a very good day for the TOPS (Take Pounds Sensibly) 77 group on weight loss but everyone is ready to get back on track.

Mary Reid led a "Show and Tell." Several ladies brought in some of their "big" clothes. This was an inspiration. Eileene Renwick won the "Get-R-Done" contest and Mary Jo Cunningham won the afghan made by Jean Betker.

Today's meeting will be "No Gain" week and Linda Lemen will have a program on "Pure Energy." The chapter meets each Monday at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave. Weigh-in is from 7:30 to 9:20 a.m. and the meeting is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. For more details, contact Donna at 301-223-8143 or Patsy at 301-582-2292.

TOPS 446



Several members of TOPS Chapter 446 could not attend the May 28 meeting. Each one was missed and the group hopes to see them at the next Wednesday meeting.

This week's program will be "Mind on Media." Anyone interested in checking out the group is welcome.

The group meets each Wednesday at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 19731 Shiloh Church Road, Hagerstown. This week's meeting will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with weigh-in from 9 to 9:20 a.m.

The chapter's summer hours begin Wednesday, June 11. Weigh-in will be from 8 to 8:20 a.m. The meeting will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Walking after the meeting will be led by Paula.

Flag burning



Morris Frock Post 42, The American Legion, will conduct a flag-burning ceremony on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the post home on Northern Avenue. The public is welcome.
