Firefighter respond to trailer fire in Morgan County



MORGAN COUNTY, W.Va., -- Firefighters this morning responded to a trailer fire in the 1400 block of Eppinger Road, according to a Morgan County Emergency Services dispatcher.

The fire was reported at 7:30 a.m.

By 8:45 a.m., no one had been transported to the hospital, he said.




Pa. man charge with five felony counts of indecent assault



McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- A McConnellsburg, Pa. man was charged with five felony counts of indecent assault and two misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure in connection with incidents involving a 11-year-old girl last summer, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Roy G. Barnhart, 66, was also charged with eight counts of corruption of minors, a misdemeanor.




Catalytic converters stolen in Franklin Co.



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A catalytic converter was stolen on Thursday or Friday from a business van parked to the rear of 981 Wayne Ave., Chambersburg police said in a news release.

Also, Pennsylvania State Police reported that a catalytic converter was stolen overnight Wednesday from a Toyota Tacoma at Pensinger's Service Station in Peters Township.




Man seen scratching parked vehicle in Pa.



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg police said a witness reported seeing a man scratch a 2004 Jeep parked at Giant on Wayne Avenue on Saturday.

The white man with a thin build and long ponytail left in a passenger car, police said.

Credit card stolen, used at Pa. stores



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A credit card issued to Nathan Frederic Rumbaugh, 32, was used fraudulently to purchase items at the Chambersburg Wal-Mart and A+ Mini Mart in Fayetteville, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

The card was used to primarily purchase women's items on the evening of May 16, police said.

Pa. man charged with stealing medicines



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Mercersburg, Pa., man was charged with third-degree felony theft for allegedly stealing two bottles of cold medicine from Sheetz on U.S. 30 in Guilford Township on Wednesday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The charge was due in part to it being the third retail theft offense for Rahim Shariyf Cary, police said.




Martinsburg man faces drug charge



MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - D'Angelo "D" Alston, 21, of 604 Winchester Ave., Martinsburg, has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance, Martinsburg police said in a news release.

Police said a warrant had been issued, and Alston was taken into custody Friday afternoon in the 200 block of West Race Street.




One injured in four-vehicle crash



FIVE FORKS, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a four-vehicle crash that happened Friday afternoon on Pa. 316 near Five Forks, according to a news release.

The 4:23 p.m. crash involved two northbound vehicles, a Volkswagen Jetta and a Chevrolet Equinox, and two southbound vehicles, a Hummer H3 and a Freightliner truck tractor, police said.

Police said the Jetta crossed the center line, struck the Hummer, spun around, struck the Equinox, and was then struck by the truck.

The only person injured in the accident was the driver of the Hummer, Pamela S. Allen, 60, of Smithsburg, who sustained minor injuries, police said.




Woman's purse stolen at Pa. Wal-Mart



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A woman lost $350 and her social security card May 18 when her purse was stolen at Wal-Mart, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

The purse was black, blue and white striped and the social security card belongs to Gayle Marie Heyser, police said. The theft happened between 11 a.m. and noon at Wal-Mart at 1730 Lincoln Way East, police said.

Man flees after being caught in Pa. home



McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Police are looking for a man whom two McConnellsburg residents caught burglarizing their home Saturday night, according to a news release.

The suspect was described as a skinny white man between 16 and 30 years old, with short dark hair, police said. Police said he entered through an open door in the 800 block of East Poplar Street and took items before he was seen by the residents and ran.

Two injured in Franklin Co. crash



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A driver and passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries Saturday after their vehicle struck a fence and a cement wall off of Pa. 433 in Greene Township, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

Brock K. Hege, 21, of Shippensburg, Pa., and Tonya D. Hornbaker, 22, of Greencastle, were both wearing seat belts, police said.

Their vehicle was headed north on Pa. 433 when it ran off the right side of the road as the driver negotiated a left curve, police said.




Pa. motorcyclist thrown from bike



McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A Needmore, Pa., resident was thrown from a motorcycle Friday after striking a deer on Great Cove Road in Ayr Township, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

Tracy James Ashley, 38, came across the deer after going around a bend in the road at about 6:51 p.m., police said.

His condition was not available Sunday.




GPS, iPod stolen from vehicle in Pa.



SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - A Garmin GPS system and an iPod Nano were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the first block of Mount Rock Road in Shippensburg last week, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

The theft happened between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday, police said.
