Sydney L. Shrader, a sophomore at the University of Florida in Tampa, has been accepted into the College of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Athletic Training Education Program.

Shrader is a 2006 Clear Spring High School graduate.




Sarah May Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Johnston of Hagers-town, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Hood College in Frederick, Md.

Hood College's Office of Academic Services awarded the Margaret Louise Kleist Prize to Sarah at an April 22 honors convocation ceremony. The prize recognizes an outstanding member of the freshman class selected from nominations by the Freshman-Sophomore Advising Group, who described Sarah as "thoughtful, conscientious, and intellectually curious and serious."

Sarah is majoring in English and plans to obtain certification in secondary education.




WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Cara Walsh, of Boonsboro, was among the 335 students who graduated from Lycoming College during its 160th commencement on May 4. Walsh graduated cum laude with a degree in art-photo/electronic.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Cynthia M. Smallwood of Hagerstown received a bachelor of science degree in medical studies from King's College on May 18.
