Benevola United Methodist Church, 19925 Benevola Church Road, Boonsboro, a mortgage burning ceremony will follow the single 9 a.m. worship service Sunday. There is no Sunday school.

A strawberry festival will follow the service.

The "burning" will be outside by the bell in front of the church.

Work on the $1.6 million multipurpose building began on Easter Sunday 2002.

Wheaton Park, Outreach Ministries will focus on The Word of God during its 2008 summer series in the park Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Sponsored by New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church, the weekly events will feature free music, a message, water, snacks and books, along with a helping hand for those in need.

Ringgold Meeting House, the annual Brethren in Christ Heritage Festival will be Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Rev. John Graybill, former missionary to Japan, will be speaking on Our Common Heritage.

There will be special music.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 18313 Lappans Road, Boonsboro, a confirmation and ground blessing for the new building will be Sunday at 4 p.m. A pot luck reception will follow.

The Revs. Rodney Michel and Anne Weatherholt will officiate.

Church of Christ at Hagerstown, 10014 White Hall Road, Hagerstown, will hold Time Out Movie Nite on June 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. Parents can have some time out while children watch the "Bugs" movie and enjoy snacks. Parents are invited. Call 301-733-5244.
