Dog grooming course

The Center for Continuing Education at Hagerstown Community College will offer a home dog grooming course from 6 to 9 p.m. on three consecutive Wednesdays beginning June 4, at The Humane Society of Washington County.

Lori Sweeney of Licking Creek Grooming will be the instructor. Participants will learn basic grooming techniques including clipping, scissoring, thinning and how to choose a groomer. Topics also will include nutrition for a healthy coat, safety, and grooming equipment.

Course fee is $59, plus a $25 materials fee which includes a textbook, and a $5 registration fee.

Class for those seeking bankruptcy

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -Financial educator Jane Landis, from Penn State Cooperative Extension, is offering a two-hour mandatory class to assist Franklin County residents filing for debt relief on Monday, June 16, at Franklin County Cooperative Extension Office, Franklin Farm Lane. The classes are approved under the Bankruptcy Abuse Protection and Consumer Protection Act. The class will be held in room 4, in the lower level of the building, which is handicap accessible.

The federal bankruptcy law requires anyone filing for Chapters 7 and 13 bankruptcies to complete a class before the discharge of their debts is final. The personal financial management class, Four Steps to a Secure Financial Future, is designed to teach individuals dealing with bankruptcy how to handle their finances and avoid future problems.

The cost of the class is $40 per person, or $50 per married couple. Scholarships are available. All registrations must be sent to Cathy F. SEEDS program at Wilson

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The annual Summer Enrichment and Exploration Day School (SEEDS) at Wilson College will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. daily Monday, June 16, to Friday, June 20, and Monday, July 14, to Friday, July 18, and are open to children in kindergarten through grade six.

There are 29 classes to choose including archery, basketball, Spanish and swimming and new offerings such as Irish dance, lacrosse, acting, beauty aids, table tennis, bobbin lace-making and more.

The cost of each weeklong SEEDS camp is $105 per child. A family plan of $90 for each additional child in the same family per week is available.
