May 30, 2008|By HEATHER KEELS

INWOOD, W.Va. - A 75-year-old man from Severna Park, Md., died Thursday in a head-on crash on Middleway Pike near Inwood, W.Va., West Virginia State Police said.

John Hobert Kimble was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash, Trooper W.M. Roden said.

The crash happened at about 4:45 p.m. in the 3200 block of Middleway Pike (W.Va. 51), Roden said.

Kimble was driving west on Middleway Pike (W.Va. 51) in a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier when an eastbound 1999 Ford Countour driven by a 16-year-old girl from Damascus, Md., crossed the center line and struck the Chevrolet head-on, Roden said.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash, he said.

The 16-year-old driver, whose name was not released because she is a minor, was transported to Martinsburg City Hospital with a broken foot, Roden said.

Kimble's wife, Pierrette Kimble, was a passenger in his vehicle. She was transported to Winchester (Va.) Medical Center for evaluation, he said.
