State champions

Brooke Duffey and Jewel Curry of the 4-Star gymnastics team brought home first-place finishes from the Level 6-7 State Gymnastics Meet.

· The 9-year-old Duffey won beam (9.5) and floor (9.375) and finished third in All-Around (36.525).

· The 15-year-old Curry won beam (9.325) and was second in All-Around (35.875).

The 4-Star team also was represented by Kania Cook, Margaret Kline, Courtney Hanshew and Allyson Perrell in Level 6 competition and Brooke Cobb, Mariana Greco, Alyssa Marker, Courtney Rose and Ashley Coleman in the Level 7 competition.

The team, coached by Nica Sutch and Sanoi VanCleve, finished fourth in Level 6 and seventh in Level 7.

In the Tune Up 4-States meet, Kania Cook and Ashley Coleman captured first place finishes.

Cook led Level 6 by winning vault (9.3), while Coleman led Level 7 by winning floor (9.35).

In Level 6, Allyson Perrell claimed a second-place finish in bars (8.650); in Level 7, Brooke Cobb captured a second-place finish in bars (9:35); in Level 8, Caileigh Oliver was the lone competitor.


Other entrants were Margaret Kline, Brooke Duffey, Courtney Hanshew, Allyson Perrell and Jewel Curry in Level 6 and Mariana Greco, Alyssa Marker and Courtney Rose in Level 7.
