Name of injured driver released

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Police on Thursday identified Adam G. Labar, 38, of Greencastle, Pa., as the driver who was severely injured in a crash on I-81 Tuesday evening.

Labar was in critical condition Thursday night at York (Pa.) Hospital, according to a spokesman there.

Labar was driving south on I-81 at 7:22 p.m. when he lost control of his Toyota Camry near mile 13 and spun across the median into the path of a northbound Chevrolet truck, Pennsylvania State Police said. The truck struck the right rear of the Toyota, police said.

Bridge closed for accident in Va.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - The U.S. 340 bridge crossing the Potomac River was closed Thursday afternoon following a vehicle collision on the span, said a 911 dispatcher.

In Jefferson County, officials were turning traffic around at a traffic light at Bolivar Heights, the dispatcher said.

The accident was being investigated by Loudoun County (Va.) authorities.


No additional information was available Thursday night.
