Kannapolis singles out Suns in 11th

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Logan Johnson, Jim Gallagher and Lyndon Estill each singled off Hagerstown reliever Justin Phillabaum in the 11th inning Tuesday as Kannapolis edged the Suns 10-9 in the South Atlantic League.

Hagerstown opened up a 7-0 lead after three innings but were unable to hold it as the Intimidators earned a split of the four-game series.

Travis Reagan's RBI single and Brandon Whiting's RBI groundout gave the Suns a 2-0 lead in the second. Stephen King's RBI single, Michael Burgess' two-run double, Reagan's RBI groundout and Whiting's RBI bunt single made it 7-0 in the third.

Kannapolis started its comeback on Johnson's grand slam in the fourth. The Intimidators made it 7-5 on two singles and a balk in the fifth.

Hagerstown scored its final runs in the sixth on Aaron Seuss' two-run single to make it 9-5.

The Intimidators cut it to 9-6 in the bottom of the sixth, as Johnson doubled and scored on Joe Persichina's single.

Kannapolis tied the game at 9 in the seventh. Sergio Morales doubled, Logan Johnson was hit by a pitch and Gallagher launched a three-run homer.

The Suns return home tonight to face Delmarva at 6:35.
