The minister officiating at the funeral service for Virginia Mae Smith, has changed. The Rev. John Schildt will officiate at the funeral service scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave.

Kenneth Lee Hollar



Due to a source's error, the obituary for Kenneth Lee Hollar, 86, in Tuesday's Herald-Mail, contained incorrect information. Mr. Hollar was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen Audrey Hollar.




Charles N. Schweitzer Jr., 69

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. --Charles N. "Chuck" Schweitzer Jr., 69, of 6716 Congressional Terrace, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 in his home.

Born Oct. 31, 1938, in Erie, Pa., he was the only son of Charles N. and Gertrude Hartman Schweitzer.

He retired from Grove Worldwide Inc. as a senior vice president of engineering and quality control.

He received a bachelor of science in industrial engineering from Penn State University and a master of business adminstration from Syracuse University.

He was a member of various model railroading clubs and organizations.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chambersburg, Pa. His masonic memberships included George Washington Lodge 143, past high priest of George Washington Royal Arch Chapter 176, past thrice illustious master of George Washington Council 66, past commander of Continental Commandery 56, all of Chambersburg.

He is survived by his wife of more than 46 years, Marjorie Roberts Schweitzer; two sons, Mark A. Schweitzer of Gaithersburg, Md., and Michael J. Schweitzer of Orlando, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Benjamin, Anne, Owen, Eli, Garrett, and Griffin.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Blank.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Chambersburg. The Rev. Neal O. Hively and the Rev. Tara Magoon will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg, with Masonic services beginning at 8 p.m.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. --Beverly J.G. Castagnetto, 74, of Martinsburg, died Monday, May 26, 2008.

Her husband, Vernon Eugene Castagnetto, preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Michael W. Castagnetto of Martinsburg and Mark A. Castagnetto of San Francisco; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, April L. Reynard; and six brothers and sisters.

Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Isabelle S. Winters, 95



MAY 16, 1913-MAY 27, 2008

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. --Isabelle S. Winters, 95, formerly of S. Second Street, Chambersburg, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg.

Born May 16, 1913 in Maple Grove, Letterkenny Township, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Grover R. and Cora Belle Foltz Umberhocker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert E. Winters, who died July 21, 1989.

She was employed as a seamstress at the former Interwoven Hosiery Mill for 12 years, until the company closed.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Stella B. Neil, and one brother, Guy W. Umberhocker.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews including her caregiver and niece, A. Joyce Summers of Fort Loudon, Pa., and Dennis E. Neil and Paul E. Hoch, both of Chambersburg.

Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. Chaplain Chuck Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in Upper Strasburg Methodist Cemetery, Upper Strasburg, Pa.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services.

Shirley T. Moore, 71

GAFFNEY, S.C. --Shirley Temple Sours Moore, 71, formerly of Hagerstown, died Monday, May 26, 2008, at her home.

Born Sept. 12, 1936, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Marvin Trenton and Mildred Frances McMichael Sours.

She graduated from North High School, Hagerstown.

She was a crossing guard for the Washington County Board of Education for more than 17 years.

She was a member of Trinity Bible Church, Hagerstown.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Richard Moore; two sons, Ricky S. Moore of Shelby, N.C., and Gerald V. Moore of Hagerstown; one brother, William T. Sours of Funkstown; one half-sister, Nancy E. Smoke of Winchester, Va.; one half-brother, Melvin W. Sours II of Hagerstown; four granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra J. Moore, one brother, Melvin T. Sours, and one sister, Betty K. Wallech.
