Hagerstown man charged in armed robbery behind Domino's Pizza
A Hagerstown man faces charges in an armed robbery behind Domino's Pizza in Hagerstown early Monday, Washington County District Court records show.
William Anthony Brown Jr., 18, of 1031 Westport Drive, was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault and theft less than $100, court records show.
At a bond review hearing Tuesday, a District Court judge lowered Brown's bond from $60,000 to $18,000, court records show.
The victim said he was walking on West Church Street at about 12:38 a.m. when two men cornered him near the Dumpsters behind Domino's Pizza, Hagerstown Police Officer Steve Magaha wrote in charging documents. One of the men pulled out a small chrome revolver and demanded the victim's money, and the victim gave him his cell phone and $5, Magaha wrote.
The victim identified Brown as the man who did not hold the gun, Magaha wrote. The other assailant, described as a 17- to 19-year-old black male about 6 feet tall and wearing a camouflage shirt, was not found, Magaha wrote.
Waynesboro man charged with sexually abusing minor
A Waynesboro, Pa., man has been charged with sexually abusing a minor after a 14-year-old girl said she had sexual contact with him on two occasions, Washington County District Court records show.
John William Smith, 40, of 208 W. Third St. in Waynesboro, faces two counts each of sexually abusing a minor, second-degree assault and indecent exposure, as well as one count each of second-degree sex offense and third-degree sex offense, court records show.
The alleged incidents took place between December 2006 and June 2007 in Hagerstown, according to charging documents.
Smith was being held on $10,000 bond, court records show.
