CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. (AP) - A 13-year-old New Hampshire boy was killed Monday morning in a crash at Summit Point Raceway in Jefferson County, according to West Virginia State Police.

The Londonderry, N.H., resident was driving in what police called a motorcycle race. His motorcycle struck another driver's cycle, and both drivers were thrown. Police said the first cycle was experiencing mechanical difficulties, causing a partial loss of control.

The teenager was run over by a third motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed, according to state police. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he suffered major head and neck trauma.

Roadracingworld.com published a news release from Championship Cup Series, which sanctioned the race, identifying the driver who was killed as Alex Lyskawa.
