Mount wins NEC title

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Craig Henson earned his first win of the season at just the right time: In the Northeast Conference championship game.

The Boonsboro High School graduate entered the game with an 0-6 record and 7.85 ERA, but Henson held Monmouth to two runs in six innings as Mount St. Mary's won the NEC title with a 14-2 victory.

The win gives the Mount its first berth in the NCAA tournament.

Waynesboro graduate Zach Helman went 3-for-5, including his first collegiate home run, and drove in a career-high five runs, while Boonsboro's Kyle Kane went 2-for-4.

The Mount will find out who and where it will be playing in the NCAA Regionals when the brackets are announced live on ESPN on Monday.
