Hagerstown City Park, Outreach Ministries will focus on The Word of God during its 2008 summer series in the park Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sponsored by New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church, the weekly events will feature free music, a message, water, snacks and books, along with a helping hand for those in need.

First Baptist Church, 18823 Shepherdstown Pike, Keedysville, a patriotic worship service Sunday will be at 11 a.m., with music by Butch Hunt and Garrett Garrett.

United Methodist Church of Pleasant Valley, off Md. 77, Joe Elliott will be leading services and providing music Sunday at 7 p.m.


Samples Manor Church of God, Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg, Pastor Kenny Johnson will hold a Memorial Day service Sunday at 2:30 p.m. to benefit the cemetery.

Special music will be provided by Guilford Station, a bluegrass group.

New Beginning Full Gospel Church, U.S. 11, three miles north of Martinsburg, W.Va., Evangelist Angel Berrios will minister Sunday at 10 a.m.

Ringgold Meeting House, the annual Brethren in Christ Heritage Festival will be Sunday, June 1, at 3 p.m.

The Rev. John Graybill, former missionary to Japan, will speak on Our Common Heritage.

There will be special music.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 18313 Lappans Road, Boonsboro, a confirmation and ground blessing for the new building will be Sunday, June 1, at 4 p.m. A pot luck reception will follow.

The Revs. Rodney Michel and Anne Weatherholt will officiate.
