Marie Catherine Baker, 81



JULY 24, 1926-MAY 20, 2008

Marie Catherine Baker, 81, of 13620 Royal Road in Hagerstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Born Saturday, July 24, 1926, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George Chalners Beaver Sr. and the late Teresa Agnes Murphy Beaver.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church

She is survived by her husband of 62 years Samuel Bender Baker; one daughter, Brenda Joyce Hull of Hagerstown; two sons, Samuel Robert Baker of Hagerstown, and Thomas Dean Baker of Hagerstown; five sisters, Ellie Sirbaugh of Hagerstown, Rose Thompson of Hagerstown, Dorothy Cooper of Hagerstown, Delores Wyand of Marlowe, W.Va., and Bernice Grandstaff of Hagerstown; two brothers, James Beaver of Hagerstown, and David Beaver of Maugansville, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter Dianna Rose Lorshbaugh; two sisters, Helen Ruck and Regina Beaver; and one brother, George Beaver Jr.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

Services will be Friday, May 23, 2008, at 1 p.m., at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home with Father Kevin Mueller officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

Alice R. Warren, 85

Alice Rosemary Wiebel Warren, 85, formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Homewood at Williamsport.

Born Nov. 30, 1922, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Frank Grover and Lillian Beatrice Grubbs Wiebel Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Isaac Warren.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hagerstown.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank G. Wiebel Jr. and Fred C. Wiebel.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown. The Rev. Jack Castle will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

RAY CITY, Ga. - Donna Jean Adams, of Ray City, died Monday, May 19, 2008.

She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Louise Fuller.

She was a 1959 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and a 1962 graduate of the Washington County School of Nursing.

She retired from nursing in 2006.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bob L. Adams; two sons, Michael and Timothy; two sisters, Janet Myers and Sandra Fuller; one brother, John Fuller III; seven grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church in Gainesboro, Va. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.




Charles J. Hoover, 76



MARCH 22, 1932-MAY 20, 2008

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Charles James Hoover, 76, of Warfordsburg, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Altoona (Pa.) Regional Health System.

Born March 22, 1932, in Louisville, Ky., he was the son of the late Garland and Pearl Hoffer Haines.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. Hoover, in 2006.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.

He retired from General Motors in Baltimore, after 32 years.

He attended Needmore Baptist Church in Warfordsburg.

He was a member of the Senior Citizens Center of Warfordsburg.

He is survived by one daughter, Roberta Baublitz of McConnellsburg, Pa.; two sons, Floran F. Kelly of Baltimore and Glenn L. Ruck of Hagerstown; one sister, Margaret A. Perkins of Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel in Hagerstown. The Rev. Roger Truax will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, with military honors.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.




Bruce I. Neibert Sr., 93



FEB. 19, 1915-MAY 21, 2008

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Bruce I. Neibert Sr., 93, of 14819 Wayne Highway, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Feb. 19, 1915, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Joseph Franklin and Blanche Disert Neibert.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jane Ebersole Neibert, in 1991. They were married Dec. 15, 1951.

He was a 1933 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

He and his wife owned and operated the family dairy farm, which was named the Silver Spring Farm. He retired in 1998.

He was a member of Hollowell Brethren in Christ Church and the Kingdom Builders Sunday School Class.

He was a member of the Dairy Farmers of America.

He is survived by four children, Bruce I. Neibert Jr., David F. Neibert, Blanche DeMartino and Mary A. Fox, all of Waynesboro; one brother, Dr. Harold C. Neibert of York, Pa.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
