Halfway Park Days this weekend

Join the Halfway Lions Club this weekend for the annual Halfway Park Days.

The Lions Club's famous barbecue chicken will be available for this weekend's Halfway Park Days at Marty "Martin" Snook Memorial Park in Halfway, starting Saturday at 10 a.m.

Numerous craft vendors also will be on hand, and lots of food will be available.

Halfway Park Days will be held until 7 p.m. Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Live entertainment is also scheduled with performances from the South Hagerstown High School Jazz Band, Williamsport High School Jazz Band and magic performances with Michael T and the Holders. Church plans service to hail new addition

The day has finally arrived! Groundbreaking for the new 9,090-square-foot addition to Valley Assembly of God Church at 17544 York Road will take place Sunday at the 10 a.m. service.


The new addition, projected to be finished by the first of October, will supply the church with a large fellowship hall, gym facility, more bathrooms and more space to better serve the rapidly growing congregation.

The church family extends an invitation to everyone to come and be part of this event.

Halfway community to host yard sale

The Lakeside mobile home community will be hosting its annual yard and bake sale Saturday, June 8, beginning at 8 a.m. Rain date is scheduled for Saturday, June 14. For more information, call 301-582-2360.
