MONT ALTO, PA. -- A Chambersburg, Pa., woman was killed and four other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash shortly before 4:15 p.m. Monday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Lily A. Rauch, 79, of 2283 Springfield Drive, was driving a Dodge Caravan minivan that police said ran a stop sign at the intersection of Mont Alto Road and Penn National Drive in Guilford Township.

The minivan collided with a 2002 Dodge Durango, which landed on its side in a field.

Caravan passengers Sarah Mae Kohler and Sylva Irene Hoover suffered major injuries and were flown by helicopter to regional hospitals, police said.

Kohler, of Fayetteville, Pa., was listed in serious condition at York (Pa.) Hospital on Monday night, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Hoover's condition was not available Monday night.

Before they were taken to Chambersburg Hospital, the occupants of the Durango reportedly told troopers that the minivan ran a stop sign. The accident occurred where Penn National Drive, Mont Alto Road and Yohe Road meet at the west entrance to Penn National Estates.

"There was a car seat (in the Caravan), but we didn't see an infant," Trooper R. Kemerer said.

The driver of the Durango, Michael Charles Lowe, and a passenger, Stacie L. Eyer, both of Chambersburg, suffered minor injuries, police said.

All airbags deployed properly, Kemerer said.

Franklin County (Pa.) Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said that Rauch was wearing a seat belt. At 5:02 p.m., she was pronounced dead from multiple blunt force trauma.

No autopsy will be performed, Conner said.

A 92-year-old Chambersburg woman died in a crash at the same intersection in July 2007.
