Local baseball teams win

Hagerstown Community College qualified for the NJCAA Division I World Series on Monday afternoon, winning a decisive third game in the best-of-3 series over Pitt (N.C.) CC, 7-3. The Hawks will travel to Grand Junction, Colo. for the 14-team World Series that runs May 24-31.

South Hagerstown defeated Winters Mill 6-5 to win the Md. Class 2A West Region baseball title and advance to the state semifinals where they will play Marriotts Ridge on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Arundel High School.
