Francis S. Davison, 78

FEB. 26, 1930-MAY 16, 2008

NORTH EAST, Md. -- Francis Stevenson "Pete" Davison, 78, of North East, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Laurelwood Care Center in Elkton, Md.

Born Feb. 26, 1930, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Edward Wesley and Edith Agnes McNeave Davison.

He was employed by the National Poster as a lithographer.

He was an avid amateur radio operator as K3FCA.

He is survived by his wife, Delores J. "Dellie" Adams Davison, whom he married Aug. 5, 1950; daughter, Denise Webster and husband, Mason, of North East; son, Franklin Davison of Boonsboro; brothers, Walter Davison of Hanover, Pa., and Joseph Davison of Florida; sister, Theresa Longo of Bel Air, Md.; grandchildren, Jennifer Uhrin, Heather Webster, Michael Uhrin, Cara Wagner and Alyssa Wagner; and seven great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by one sister, Lottie Steinert; and two brothers, Edward Davison and John Davison.

There will be no public viewing.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 21, at 11 a.m. in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Hagerstown. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Maryland, 133 N. Bridge St., Elkton, MD 21921.

Mardella J. DeSantis, 82

BOONSBORO -- Mardella Jane DeSantis, 82, of Reeders Memorial Home, and formerly of 16905 Springlake Court in Hagerstown, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Dec. 26, 1925, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Lula E. Rutherford Paynter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony DeSantis, in 1977.

She attended schools in Hagerstown.

She was employed by Valley Credit Service.

She attended Grace Brethren Church.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary P. Seekford, Pauline P. Krocker, Margie P. Haynes and Edna P. Rowland; and one brother, Raymond D. Paynter.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. Brother Paul Hammond will officiate.

It was her request to have no viewing. She also requested the omission of flowers.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Adelaide A. Capezuto, 85

JULY 30, 1922-MAY 16, 2008

WILLIAMSPORT -- Adelaide Augusta Capezuto, 85, of 355 Coneflower Drive, died Friday, May 16, 2008.

Born July 30, 1922, in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of the late Louis George Kopp and Adelaide Raymont Heflin Kopp.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Capezuto, in 1987.

She was the owner of Addie's General Store in Blairs Valley from 1979 to 1986.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia L. Walter of Hagerstown, and Christina J. Page of Manassas, Va.; two sons, Louis A. Capezuto of Clear Spring, and William A. Capezuto Jr. of Florida; one brother, Louis Kopp of Newport News, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ann T. Croghan and Alice M. Hardy; one sister; and two brothers.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Monsignor Alfred E. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Nancy A. Helsley, 83

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Nancy Ann Helsley, 83, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 29, 1924, in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Charles Clay and Naomi Virginia Michael Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hugh Helsley, in 2001.

She was a 1943 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She retired in 1977 from the Broward County (Fla.) Board of Education as a bookkeeper.

She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs.

She was a member of Ye Towne of Bath Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Ladies Auxiliary of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60 of Berkeley Springs.

She is survived by one daughter, Glenda G. Tapley of Smithsburg; one son, Dennis G. Helsley of Melbourne, Fla.; one sister, Etta M. Hovermale of Berkeley Springs; one brother, Jimmie R. Grove of Berkeley Springs; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; two sisters, Mary L. Grove and Madeline Grove; and two brothers, Kenneth L. Grove and Charles G. Grove.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 2 p.m.
