Corina Simone Campbell, daughter of Roland and Cassandra Campbell of Smithsburg, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Robert Morris University, May 10 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

Corina is a 2004 graduate of Smithsburg High School. Campbell is a member of the Robert Morris track and field team and the opinion editor of the university newspaper.

She is a member of several honor societies including Alpha Chi Honor Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Lambda Pi Eta National Communications Honor Society and the National Association of Black Journalist.

She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Her collegiate awards include Who's Who Among American College Students, AKA Outstanding Achievement Award, The Sentry Newspaper Meritorious Service Award, School of Communications and Information Systems Dean's Scholar Award, RMU Women of Achievement Award and RMU Student Signature Leadership Award.


She graduated with a 3.75 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

LEXINGTON, Va. - Adam Tyler Hockensmith, a senior at Washington and Lee University, has been named to the honor roll for the winter term.

Honor roll status represents a term grade-average of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky A. Hockensmith of Hagerstown.

Brittany Strait, of Chambersburg, Pa., received the Chancellor's Achievement Award for the Fall 2007 semester at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.

To qualify for this award, students must complete a minimum of 15 semester hours and maintain a 4.0 grade-point average.

Brittany, a junior Accounting major the Cameron School of Business, is a 2005 Chambersburg Senior High School graduate.

She is the daughter of Randy and Wanita Shoemaker of Chambersburg.

CONWAY, S.C. - The following area students participated in the Coastal Carolina spring commencement ceremony May 10 at Brooks Stadium:

Kayla Canfield, of Clear Spring, received a BA degree; Cari Covahey of Frederick, Md., earned a BA degree; Felicia Adams of Middletown, Md., received a BS degree in business; and Brian Morris of Walkersville, Md., earned a BS degree in business.
