Hagerstown City Park, Outreach Ministries will focus on The Word of God during its 2008 summer series in the park, Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sponsored by New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church, the weekly events will feature free music, a message, water, snacks and books, along with a helping hand for those in need.

Cornerstone Church of Christ, The Grand Venice, 431 Dual Highway, Hagerstown, the Rev. David Platt will lead revival services beginning Sunday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Services will continue May 19 to 22 at 7 nightly.

Dunker Church, Antietam National Historical Battlefield, Sharpsburg, area Brethren churches will hold a 300th anniversary of the Church of the Brethren commemorative worship Sunday at 3 p.m. The service will include hymn singing, meditation, history and special music.


Participating congregations are Beaver Creek, Long Meadow, Broadfording, Manor, Brownsville, Sharpsburg, Downsville, Saint James, Gateway, Stone Bridge, Hagerstown and Welty.

Locust Valley Bible Church, 1323 Marker Road, Middletown, a Bible conference Monday at 7 p.m. will feature Pastor Bruce Gephart of Hagerstown speaking on Predestination.

The conference is sponsored by the Fellowship of Bible Churches.

River of Life Family Worship Center, 12312 Orebank Road, Clear Spring, the Rev. Philip Johnson will lead revival services May 21 to 24 at 7 nightly and Sunday, May 25, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Samples Manor Church of God, Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg, Pastor Kenny Johnson will hold a Memorial Day service Sunday, May 25, at 2:30 p.m. to benefit the cemetery.

Special music will be provided by Guilford Station, a bluegrass group.
