Thursday, May 22, 7 p.m., Nature Center at Mount Aetna Camp and Retreat, Mount Aetna Road, east of Hagerstown. Paul Kazyak, Julie Pippel and George Newman will discuss conservation and water quality issues within the Antietam Creek watershed.


Franklin County Historical Society - Kittochtinny

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Thursday, May 22, 12:45 p.m., Grove Family Library, 101 Ragged Edge Road. Wayne E. Taylor, author of two books about the early history of the Tuscarora Valley, will present a lecture on that subject. A catered lunch from Kathy's Deli which costs $9.50 will be available at noon. Scholarship fundraiser

Saturday, May 17, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wacohu Grange Hall, U.S. 40 West and Huyetts Crossroads, west of Hagers-town. The event features a National Pike wagon train activity with a chicken barbecue, breakfast, soup and sandwich lunch, a bake sale and a yard sale. The wagon train will stop for rest and photos at 11:30 a.m. before heading to Hagerstown.
