North Hagerstown 12, Clarksburg 11

CLARKSBURG, Md. - North Hagerstown overcame a 7-0 deficit and scored eight runs in the final two innings to upset No. 2 seed Clarksburg in the Maryland 2A West quarterfinals.

Jake Steich led the Hubs offensively and finished the Coyotes off on the mound. Steich had two hits and drove in three runs, and he pitched the final 2 1/3 innings, allowing only one earned run to pick up the victory.

Colby Fisher, Bryan Laferte, Steve Younker and Tyler Ernde had two hits each for the Hubs (6-14), while Fisher, Nathan Harden and Tyler Fairley each drove in two runs. Fisher added a home run in the victory.


The Hubs will travel to Liberty (13-6) for a semfinal game today, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Fannett-Metal 12, Southern Fulton 1

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Colt Redman had two hits and drove in Southen Fulton's (9-8, 8-8) only run in the Sideling Hill League loss.


Southern Fulton 5, Fannett-Metal 1

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Keena Elbin and Emily Garland each had two hits for Southern Fulton (13-5, 9-5) in the Sideling Hill League win.

Mercersburg 5, McConnellsburg 2

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Lauren Dobish had two hits and Cree Riley had five strikeouts for Mercersburg Academy.

Megan Eichelberger had two hits and struck out 10 for McConnellsburg (11-7).


CVCS 2, Grace 1

Taylor Smith and Kimberly Sensenderfer each scored a goal to lead Cumberland Valley Christian School past Grace Academy in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference playoffs.

Gabriella Durr scored on an assist from Maddie Riford for Grace (2-11).


Northern York 16, Mercersburg 5

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Will Fejes had three goals and Jay Whyel had two for Mercersburg Academy in the loss.

Luke Griffin and James Gotoff each had an assist for the Blue Storm.
