May 13, 2008

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Washington County (Pa.) Coroner S. Timothy Warco determined in an autopsy that a 19-year-old Greencastle man died from acute alcohol intoxication.

William Kiel Bobbitt, a student at California University of Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at 8:34 a.m. May 1 at a friend's apartment on Second Street in California, Pa., Warco said in a news release.

Residents of the apartment told police that Bobbitt arrived at 1 a.m., asking for a place to stay, Warco said. They found him unresponsive when they awoke at 7:40 a.m., he said.

Warco ruled that the alcohol poisoning was accidental.

Bobbitt graduated from Greencastle-Antrim High School in 2007 and was active in several area churches, youth groups and missions trips.
