Fitness classes for all ages

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -Otterbein United Methodist Church offers fitness classes for all ages. Cardio kick boxing and Bodyglide classes are offered at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, followed by adult karate at 7 p.m. Karate for children in grades four through eight is offered from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturdays, and for children in kindergarten through grade three from noon to 1 p.m. Classes cost $10 a month for individuals or $20 for families per class. Senior summit

Washington County Hospital and Washington County CARES Coalition will hold Senior Summit: Aging Well from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, at Robinwood Medical Center, Suite 142, Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown.

The summit is for people age 55 and older. There will be speakers, demonstrations and entertainment. Susan McDonald, executive director of Washington County Commission on Aging, will present the Washington County Aging Plan. Representatives from Washington County CARES Coalition will share updates on its initiatives related to seniors and caregivers. Bill Bugg will discuss staying the importance of staying mentally and physically fit. People from the Nutrition and Physical Activity Coalition will talk about fast, healthy and economical meals for seniors. Cooking, ballroom dancing and exercise demonstrations are other activities offered at the summit. Screenings and information booths will be available.
