Hagerstown Community College to be site for MIT forum broadcast

Hagerstown Community College's Technical Innovation Center will be a viewing site for the next live broadcast presented by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Enterprise Forum titled "Innovation to Commercialization: Using Government Funding to Kick Start Your Start-Up." The broadcast will be on Wednesday, June 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., in TIC conference room 208.

The broadcast will address the early stages of business ventures for beginning entrepreneurs and highlight ways in which small business owners can move from a "great idea" to a "great product." Three entrepreneurs will speak about how they used Small Business Innovation Research grants to assist their companies in getting off the ground, and will also discuss which government agencies to look for when pursuing grants. The panel includes Milton Chen of VSee, Ric Fulop of A123 Systems, Christopher Loose of Stericoat and Thomas Allnutt of the National Science Foundation.

Bruce Gellerman of National Public Radio will serve as moderator.
