Fly fishing workshop

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Renfrew Institute will sponsor a fly fishing workshop. Bob Stouffer of Antietam Fly Anglers will lead the workshop. The session will focus on fly-casting, the equipment and tips and techniques of casting. Participants may bring their own equipment or borrow practice rods. From 9 a.m. to noon. Renfrew Park, 1010 E. Master naturalist workshops

The workshops train individuals enrolled in Audubon Society's Potomac Valley Master Naturalist Program. Also open on a space-available basis to members of the public. Enrollment for each workshop is limited to 20 persons.

· Saturday, May 10 -- The National Conservation Training Center, Shepherdstown, W.Va.: Speed sketching: an additional tool to aid in field IDs, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.; Using dichotomous keys, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.


· Saturday, Aug. 23 -- Cacapon State Park: Singing insects, 6 to 10 p.m.

· Saturday, Sept. 6 -- Cacapon State Park: Astronomy with binoculars, 7 p.m.

Registration deadline for drama camp

HANCOCK -- Students will learn the basics of acting, directing, choreography and blocking and will help write a script that they will perform on the last day of the workshop. Plein air painting

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. -- Marti Yeager will teach plein air painting. Bring an easel, portable stand for paints, usual supplies for the medium of your choice, sketchbook and pencil or charcoal. Fly fishing class

Nemacolin Chapter of Trout Unlimited will offer a one-day fly fishing school for first-time fly fishers and those wishing to expand their knowledge about the sport. Includes a three-hour guided trip on the Casselman River. Participants older than 16 are required to have a Maryland fishing license and trout stamp. All other equipment provided. Dog grooming course

Lori Sweeney of Licking Creek Grooming will instruct a home dog grooming course. Students will be able to bring pets the last night of class to get grooming tips. Sponsored by Center for Continuing Education at Hagerstown Community College. 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays beginning June 4. Humane Society of Washington County. $59, plus $25 materials fee which includes textbook, and $5 registration fee.

Free art workshops

Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will offer free art workshops. The workshops are sponsored in part by Washington County Arts Council.

The workshops are:

· Narrative illustration: bringing works to life with imagery workshop for ages 8 to 14 with Allison Weaver, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31.
