Edith V. Seibert, 79



APRIL 4, 1929-MAY 7, 2008

WILLIAMSPORT - Edith Virginia Seibert, 79, formerly of Williamsport, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport.

Born April 4, 1929, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Walter Perry and Mary Pearl Harsh Beckley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David G. Seibert Sr., in 1985.

She was a member of Salem Reformed Church.

She was a volunteer at Homewood Retirement Village.

She is survived by two sons, David G. Seibert Jr. of Richmond, Va., and Stephen Seibert of Rockville, Md.; four sisters, Mary Plank, Betty Eckstine and JoAnn Saunders, all of Hagerstown, and Margaret Sprecher of Williamsport; two brothers, Elmer Beckley and Paul Beckley, both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; and her companion, Downey Harshman of Williamsport.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Grab and Genevieve Schnebly; and one brother, Walter Beckley Jr.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Salem Reformed Church in Hagerstown. The Rev. Steve Wagoner will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Reformed Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown and Monday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Betty Ellis, 82

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Betty Ellis, 82, of Franklin and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Sunday, May 4, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellis.

She is survived by five daughters, Jeri Platt, Leigh Kerekes, Tracy Sadler, Kimberly Haley and Karin Phillips; and five granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by one son, John R. Ellis.

Graveside services will be private at Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Arrangements are by Rosedale Funeral Home and Cemetery in Martinsburg.




Jerry Grove, 62

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Jerry Jr. Grove, 62, of Hedgesville, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, Va.

Born Nov. 2, 1945, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Jerry Grove and Gaye Bowman Grove.

He retired after 27 years from Charles Town Races & Slots.

He attended Open Door Baptist Church in Winchester.

He was a member of Junior Order United American Mechanics, NRA and Back Creek Valley Fire Co.

He is survived by two daughters, Rosanna Jenkins of Winchester and Tammy M. Drake of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; three sons, Jerry W. Grove of Martinsburg, W.Va., Frank A. Smith of Geneva, Ind., and Adam C. Grove of Inwood, W.Va.; four sisters, Arvesta Shiley of Charles Town, W.Va., and Juanita Slonaker, Catherine Tyo and Phyllis Swartz, all of Inwood; four brothers, Paul Grove of Rio, W.Va., John Grove of Bunker Hill, and Ronnie Grove and Calvin Grove, both of Martinsburg; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Nathan Grove.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at South Berkeley Funeral Chapel in Inwood. Pastor Kenneth Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Raymond M. Berrier, 80

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Raymond M. "Slim" Berrier, 80, of 7650 Furnace Road, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at his home.

Born Jan. 1, 1928, in Dry Run, Pa., he was the son of the late Stanley Berrier and Ruth Collins Middaugh.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Elizabeth Stevens Berrier, in 2006. They were married Feb. 9, 1948.

He attended school in Dry Run.

He was employed as an equipment operator by South Mountain Restoration Center in South Mountain, Pa., from 1971 until his retirement in 1990.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of McCartney American Legion Post 232 of Dry Run and Mountain Valley Riders Saddle Club of Waynesboro.

He is survived by two daughters, Judith A. Rock of Waynesboro and Susan E. West of Fayetteville, Pa.; one son, Donald R. Berrier of Pond Bank, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Berrier.

Services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Robert H. Garlock Jr., 75

CLEAR SPRING - Robert Henry Garlock Jr., 75, of 13428 Draper Road, Clear Spring, Md., passed away, Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Sunday, Nov. 6, 1932, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Robert Henry Garlock Sr. and Leola E. Wetzel Garlock Domer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jane Garlock, in 2000.
