ROMNEY, W.Va. - Blaine Coates and Jared Weatherholtz each had three hits, a home run and three RBIs to help Musselman edge Hampshire, 12-10, in the West Virginia Class AAA Region II Section 1 Championship game on Wednesday.

Mark Clatterbuck had three hits and two RBIs for the Applemen (14-13).

Musselman will face the Martinsburg-Hedgesville winner in the regional semifinals.

No. 6 Chambersburg 10, No. 7 Greencastle 4

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Alex Izer had two hits and Rusty Cordell doubled for Greencastle-Antrim, but Chambersburg used a six-run seventh inning to top the Blue Devils (13-6).

No. 3 South Hagerstown 12, Brunswick 1

Cory Shank had three hits to lead South Hagerstown over Brunswick in a five-inning rout.

Matt Rummel had two hits and two RBIs, Joey Miller had two hits, including a two-run homer, and Garrick Boward also added two hits for the Rebels (14-3).


Notre Dame 8, No. 4 Mercersburg Academy 3

MIDDLEBURG, Va. - Errors were costly for Mercersburg Academy as the Blue Storm fell behind Notre Dame 5-0 after two innings.

Tom Timoney, Collin Stevens and Chris Sintetos each had a pair of hits for Mercersburg (12-6). Freshman Christian Binford took the loss.

Boonsboro 12, North Hagerstown 2

Jake Pendergraft had three hits, four RBIs and two stolen bases to lead Boonsboro over North Hagerstown in a five-inning rout.

Jared Ferguson had two hits and three RBIs for the Warriors (9-9).

The loss was a school-record 10th straight for North (4-14).


No. 1 Waynesboro 11, James Buchanan 1

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Taryn Ashway pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead Waynesboro over James Buchanan, 11-1, in a five-inning rout.

Danni Miller had two hits and three RBIs for the Maidens (17-2), while Katie Zak, Mallory Wishard and Ashway had two hits and one RBI apiece.

Ashway upped her strikeout total to 241 and posted her 12th shutout of the season.

St. Maria Goretti 5, Smithsburg 3

SMITHSBURG- Gabby Turano had three hits to help St. Maria Goretti defeat Smithsburg.

Colleen McCauley had two doubles and an RBI, Alex Penn had two hits and an RBI and Brenna Edmunds also added two hits for the Gaels (9-10).

Caroline Rosenthal struck out eight and gave up only four hits to lead Goretti.

Bethany Garnand hit a three-run homer for the Leopards.

Boonsboro 3, North Hagerstown 2

Bridgette Ringley drove in the game-winning run in the ninth inning to lift Boonsboro over North Hagerstown.

Amber Welch had three hits and nine stikeouts, Breanne Lohman had three hits and Jaime Donato had two hits for the Warriors (13-5).

Shanan Plunkett led the Hubs (9-11) with two hits and two stolen bases.

Donato and Plunkett each had an RBI in the eighth to send the game to nine innings.

Highland 5, Mercersburg Academy 1

WARRENTON, Va. - Highland School held Mercersburg Academy (9-8) to only one hit to help earn the victory.
