Brunswick 3, North Hagerstown 0

BRUNSWICK, Md. -- Brunswick scored all three of its runs in the first inning and Mike Minch threw a five-hit shutout as the Railroaders blanked North Hagerstown.

Michael Hooper went 2-for-3 for the Railroaders (14-5).

Jake Steich went six innings, allowing one earned run and only three hits for the Hubs (4-13).

St. Maria Goretti 14, Hancock 8

Nic Martin had three hits, including a solo home run in the second, and drove in three runs for the Gaels. J.J. O'Neill had two hits and a home run, David Bowen had four hits, Daniel Rost had two hits and four RBIs and Will Murray struck out nine for Goretti (11-8, 4-4).

Logan True, Jacob Foreman and Mike Clingerman each had two hits for the Panthers.

Heritage Academy 15, Grace Academy 6

Travis Barthalow had three hits, including a three-run triple in a seven-run second inning, as Heritage Academy beat Grace Academy in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference game.


Steven Barthalow and Andrew Hendershot each had three hits for the Eagles (9-3, 6-2).

Lewis Rudy had three hits, while Pat Salvagno, Ben Barnett and Kenny Frederickson each had two hits for Grace (6-7).

Southern Fulton 14, Everett 8

EVERETT, Pa. -- Justin Berkstresser hit a grand slam to key Southern Fulton's seven-run fifth inning as the Indians rallied from a 5-1 deficit for a Sideling Hill League victory over Everett, while literally giving their bodies for the team.

After Berkstresser's blast, Everett pitchers started to become wild. They hit eight Southern Fulton batters and walked nine more.

Derek Younker had two hits and an RBI for the Indians (8-6, 7-6).


North Hagerstown 16, Brunswick 6

BRUNSWICK, Md. -- Tanaishia Russ had two hits, including a solo home run, and four RBIs to lead North Hagerstown over Brunswick.

Destanie Agee had three hits and three RBIs, Caroline Kreiger had three hits and Alyssa Collier and Shanan Plunkett each added two hits for the Hubs (9-10).

Katie Renner had three hits, including a solo home run, for Brunswick.

Everett 10, S. Fulton 0

EVERETT, Pa. -- Andrea Layton pitched a two-hit shutout in Everett's Sideling Hill League win over Southern Fulton (10-5, 7-5).

Saint James 22, Foxcroft 12

MIDDLEBURG, Va. -- Heather Lowery had three hits, including a home run, to lead St. James to a victory over Foxcroft School.

Tierra Jones went 3-for-3 for St. James, while Morgan St. George added two hits.

THE PLAINS, Va. -- Caroline Salisbury had three goals and three assists to lead St. James over Wakefield.

Jina Hontz had two goals and two assists, Gina Clapp and Mary Bacon had two goals and an assist, Courtney Peterson had two goals, Maura McCormack had a goal and two assists, Anna Morrow had a goal and an assist, and Se Young Lee, Steph Spangler, Gyra Chan and Rachel Herrera had one goal each for the Saints.


Shalom 3, Broadfording 1

Emile Taylor had two goals and Olivia Grove added two assists to lead Shalom past Broadfording Christian.

Taylor scored in the 13th minute and Emily Madeira gave Shalom (9-2) a 2-1 lead in the 24th minute, both on Grove assists. Broadfording scored in the 20th minute on an own goal.

Taylor got her second goal in the 61st minute from Stacy Thrush.

Heritage Academy 2, Grace Academy 0

Morgan McIntire scored a goal on a penalty kick and Steph O'Brien also scored to lead Heritage Academy to a victory over Grace Academy.

With the loss, Grace fell to 2-9.
