Additional 'Capital for a Day' events planned Thursday in Hagerstown

Aside from Gov. Martin O'Malley's itinerary, several state cabinet officials have planned separate events in and around Hagerstown on Thursday, when the city will be "Capital for a Day," including:

· Department of Aging Secretary Gloria G. Lawlah will visit the Washington County Commission on Aging Office on West Franklin Street

· Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Secretary John M. Colmers will visit Western Maryland Hospital Center

· Brown and Department of General Services Secretary Alvin C. Collins will be among those who visit Hagerstown Community College's Career Programs Building, which is being renovated


· State Superintendent of Schools Nancy S. Grasmick will visit Western Maryland Regional Library at the downtown branch of Washington County Free Library

· Department of Agriculture Secretary Roger L. Richardson will visit Rinehart Orchards in Smithsburg

· Andrea E. Mansfield, an assistant secretary for the Maryland Higher Education Commission, will visit Jackson Hewitt Tax School in Hagerstown

· Department of Juvenile Services Secretary Donald W. DeVore will visit Western Maryland Children's Center
