County to hold May 14 public hearing on Funkstown bridge closure

May 07, 2008

A public hearing on the Funkstown bridge repair project will be held May 14 at 7 p.m. at E. Russell Hicks Middle School, county officials said Tuesday.

Public Works officials will present an overview of the project. Afterward, people will be able to ask questions and comment on the project.

Some Washington County Commissioners will attend the meeting and local state delegation members have been invited.

The project would close the bridge for five to six months for repairs. Several business owners on East Oak Ridge Drive have argued that the closure will hurt their businesses.

County officials held a similar community meeting March 6 regarding the closure.
