Brandon Knight pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts as No. 4 South Hagerstown beat Middletown 17-4 on Wednesday to capture the MVAL Piedmont title.

Tyler Presgraves and Tim Hamilton each had two hits and a home run and Todd Jacobson had two hits and three RBIs for the Rebels (11-2, 6-0).

No. 3 Waynesboro 11, Carlisle 1

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Nathan Minnich smacked a three-run homer as Waynesboro crushed Carlisle.

Brenton Kopecek, Aaron Beck, Ian Smith and Greg Wade each had two hits for the Indians (12-2).

No. 5 Clear Spring 11, Boonsboro 1

CLEAR SPRING - Winning pitcher Josh Constable had seven strikeouts and went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run to lead Clear Spring past Boonsboro.

Brandon Glazier was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and Aaron Mills went 2-for-3 and stole two bases for Clear Spring (11-2).

No. 6 Chambersburg 8, Cedar Cliff 2

HIGHLAND PARK, Pa. - Tyler McDonald and Ben Eby each had two hits and two RBIs for Chambersburg.


Garrett Sanders, Seth Eby and T.J. Warner each had two hits for the Trojans (10-5).

Camp Hill 11, No. 7 Greencastle 6

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Joe Sellitto had two hits, including a three-run homer, for Greencastle-Antrim.

Jared Doyle had two hits, including a home run, Grant Myers had two hits and two RBIs and Rusty Cordell added two hits for the Blue Devils (11-4).

Williamsport 5, North 1

A.J. Jamison had three hits, including a two-run homer, to lead Williamsport past North Hagerstown.

Andrew Duff also homered for the Wildcats, while Patrick Hammond pitched six innings, striking out five and allowing only one earned run for the win.

Nathan Harden, Cody Nelling and Tyler Fairley each had two hits for the Hubs, while Kyle Hoffman had 11 strikeouts in a complete-game loss.

Goretti 8, McConnellsburg 7

Jay Donoghue had three hits and four RBIs as St. Maria Goretti beat McConnellsburg.

Aaron Wilkinson had two hits for the Gaels (9-8).

Caleb Washabaugh and Adam Sipes had two hits each for the Spartans.

Southern Fulton 8, Tussey Mountain 5

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Jesse Smartt had two hits, a stolen base and scored twice as Southern Fulton beat Tussey Mountain.

Dylan Whiteside had three hits, including a double, for the Indians (7-4).

St. Andrews 11, Saint James 3

ST.JAMES - Max Hontz had two RBIs and Mike Russ had 10 strikeouts for Saint James (3-8-1).

Smithsburg drops two

CATOCTIN, Md. - Josh Conway had a two-run homer and Bobby Smith had two hits as Smithsburg lost 9-2 to Catoctin.

Earlier, Catoctin beat Smithsburg 12-9 in a game that was picked up where it left off earlier this year. Jay Shafer had two doubles, Conway had two hits and three RBIs, Kevin Kocsis had two hits and Brandon Knight had a three-run homer for the Leopards (5-9).

Hedgesville 6-4, Sherando 3-5

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Andrew Snyder had two hits and pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Hedgesville beat Sherando in the opener of a twinbill.

Tylor McCain had two hits and four stolen bases, Jake Riner and Ricky Miller each hit a two-run homer and Jordan Smith and Maurice Adams had two hits each for the Eagles (15-12).

Miller had three hits, while Adams, Riner and Sean Huff each had two hits in the loss in the nightcap.


No. 1 Hedgesville 5, Martinsburg 4

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Jess Shirley had 11 strikeouts, two hits and drove home Chelsie Oals for the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh as Hedgesville rallied past Martinsburg.

Sam Mumaw had two hits, including a two-run homer, for the Eagles (27-3).

Tiffany Farmer had three hits, including a two-run homer, and three RBIs for the Bulldogs.

No. 2 Waynesboro 2, Carlisle 0

CARLISLE, Pa. - Taryn Ashway pitched a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts for her ninth shutout of the season for the Maidens.

Ashway also had a pair of hits and drove in a run. Emily Masters had two hits and Dani Miller drove in the other run for Waynesboro (14-2, 9-1), which stands in first place in the Mid-Penn Colonial.

No. 4 Greencastle 19, Camp Hill 0

CAMP HILL, Pa. - Rochelle Christman had three hits and four RBIs as Greencastle-Antrim beat Camp Hill.

Kayla Pond had three hits, Chey Melius had 2 hits and two RBIs and Erin Garns pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts for Greencastle (14-2, 10-1).

No. 7 Boonsboro 6, Clear Spring 3

CLEAR SPRING - Breanne Lohman had three hits, including a two-run homer and a double, as Boonsboro beat Clear Spring.

Christina Mehaffie and Hannah Leizear had two hits each for the Blazers (5-9).

St. James 29, Notre Dame 7

SAINT JAMES - Payton Berry had five hits and four RBIs and Alina Rossini had four hits, including a triple and a double, and three RBIs to lead St. James.

Tierra Jones had four hits and Morgan St. George had three hits for St. James.

Hancock 16, Forbes Road 11

HANCOCK - Karly Logsdon had three hits as Hancock beat Forbes Road.

Brittany Moats had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs for Hancock (5-10).

Mercersburg 10, Goretti 0

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Cree Riley had two triples and pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Mercersburg Academy (8-7) beat St. Maria Goretti.
