April 30, 2008

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Martinsburg police and the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department this morning responded to reports of a shooting at the Martin's Landing Apartments off Tavern Road in Martinsburg, W.Va., police said.

Several shots were fired at a vehicle in the apartment complex at about 2:30 a.m., deputies said in a news release.

Deputies followed a gray Lincoln Town Car that had been in the area at the time of the shooting, but four men got out of the car and fled on foot.

A K9 was called in, and found the track of one of the men, who was taken into custody. He had two guns, one of which had been reported stolen to Hagerstown police, deputies said.
