THURMONT, Md. -- Jamie Farr had three hits, including a home run, and drove in the game-winning run in Catoctin's 8-7 win over No. 5 Williamsport in an MVAL Antietam game on Tuesday.

The Cougars snapped the Wildcats' eight-game winning streak.

Kelly Beard, Ali Zube and Emily Myers each hit a pair of doubles and Sarah Duffy added two hits for the Wildcats (11-2, 7-2).

Beard struck out 11 in a losing effort.

No. 2 Waynesboro 10, Susquenita 1

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Taryn Ashway threw a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts to lead Waynesboro in a Mid-Penn Colonial rout of Susquenita.

Boo Kuhn had three hits and three RBIs, Amanda Gray had three hits and two RBIs and Danni Miller drove in two runs for the Maidens (13-2, 8-1).

No. 1 Jefferson 4, Millbrook 2

WINCHESTER, Va. -- Tyler Hester hit a two-run double in the top of the seventh inning for the winning margin in Jefferson's win over Millbrook.

Dillon Regalia tripled to lead off the seventh inning scored what proved to be the winning run on Hester's hit. Brandon Campbell and Bryan Maxfield combined on a three-hitter for the Cougars (26-2).

Red Land 6, No. 6 Chambersburg 4

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Zach Helm drove in two runs, but Chambersburg lost to Red Land in a Mid-Penn Commonwealth game.

The Trojans (9-5) have lost four of their last six games.

Grace 7, Shalom 5

Pat Salvagno had three hits and two RBIs to lead Grace Academy over Shalom Christian in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Brandon Hess and Kevin Miller had two hits each, while Hess struck out 11 in a complete game for the Knights (6-4).

Catoctin 4, Williamsport 3

THURMONT, Md. -- Travis Sluger had two hits and Patrick Hammond hit a two-run homer for Williamsport, but Catoctin scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to keep the Wildcats winless in MVAL Antietam play.

Sluger took the loss for Williamsport (3-11, 0-10), scattering seven hits.

Hedgesville 10, Martinsburg 4

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Andrew Shaffer hit two home runs, including a grand slam, as Hedgesville beat Martinsburg.

Shaffer finished with three hits and seven RBIs, while Jordan Smith had three hits and Jake Riner had two for the Eagles (14-11).

Brandon King and Zach Woolcock had two hits each for the Bulldogs.

GIRLS LACROSSE



Highland 10, St. James 9

SAINT JAMES -- Caroline Salisbury had five goals and three assists for St. James in a loss to Highland School.

Anna Morrow had two goals for the Saints, while Jina Hontz and Courtney Peterson each added one goal.

BOYS LACROSSE



Wakefield 7, St. James 5

Colin Stoecker had three goals and an assist and Bryan Hummel-Price made 17 saves for St. James in a loss to Wakefield.

Smithsburg 17, South Hagerstown 2

SMITHSBURG -- Kevan Schellenberg scored five goals to lead Smithsburg over South Hagerstown.

Josh Ritchey and Kyle Ritchey each scored three goals, Craig Trueblood had two goals and five assists and Mark Chirdon, John Anderson and Ben Glacken each added one goal for the Leopards (8-4).

Yannich Mundy and Nick Garland scored for the Rebels.

GIRLS SOCCER



Heritage 5, New Life 0

FREDERICK, Md. -- Morgan McIntire, Stephanie O'Brien, Callie Butts, Rachel Shirk and Kathleen Kidd each scored a goal as Heritage Academy shut out New Life in the MDCC.

Taylor McIntire and Gracie O'Brien each had an assist for the Eagles (8-2). 

Shalom 4, Grace 1

Audrey Perry, Alyssa Rohrer and Emily Madeira each had a goal and an assist as Shalom Christian Academy beat Grace Academy. 

Emily Taylor scored a goal and Lauren Corbett had an assist for the Flames (6-2).
