Hagerstown proclaims Drive 25 Day

April 29, 2008

Hagerstown Mayor Robert E. Bruchey II and the City Council have proclaimed May 1 will be observed as Keep Kids Alive Drive 25 Day.

This nonprofit, nationally based program works within communities across the country to decrease speeding in residential neighborhoods and to educate people about the serious consequences of driving above posted speed limits, the city said in a prepared release.

The City of Hagerstown's Neighborhoods 1st groups have adopted this day as a citywide project. Signs will be posted on May 1 to remind drivers to observe the speed limit while driving and to use extra caution in areas with children, pedestrians and cyclists.

People wishing more information on Keep Kids Alive Drive 25 Day and Neighborhoods 1st may call 301-739-8577, extension 191.
