Virginia Avenue Sheetz robbed

The Sheetz store at 17550 Virginia Ave. in Hagerstown was robbed early Friday, according to a Maryland State Police press release.

About 1 a.m., a man walked into the store and grabbed the cashier by the shoulder, walked her to the registers and demanded money, police said.

The man did not show a weapon and left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

He last was seen walking toward Marbern Avenue, police said.

Police describe the man as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 250 pounds. He is in his early to mid-30s and had blond or sandy blond hair, police said.

The man was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt with the hood over his head, a maroon T-shirt with white letters, blue jeans and white tennis shoes, police said.
