Nature photography workshop

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Potomac Valley Audubon Society is offering a nature photography workshop for beginners and photographers with some experience. The instructors will be Wil and Donna Hershberger of Nature Images and Sounds in Hedgesville, W.Va. Class size is limited to 15. 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, to noon Sunday, April 27. Color mixing and color theory

Master naturalist workshops

The workshops, which will typically consist of three hours of instruction on a topic, will count as elective courses for individuals enrolled in Audubon Society's Potomac Valley Master Naturalist Program. Also open on a space-available basis to members of the public. Enrollment for each workshop is limited to 20 persons.

· Saturday, May 10 - The National Conservation Training Center, Shepherdstown, W.Va.: Speed Sketching - An Additional Tool to Aid in Field IDs, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.; Using Dichotomous Keys, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

· Saturday, Aug. 23 - Cacapon State Park: Singing Insects, 6 to 10 p.m.

· Saturday, Sept. 6 - Cacapon State Park: Astronomy with Binoculars, 7 p.m.

Standard/Latin ballroom dancing

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Learn the basic steps and easy combinations in this beginner's ballroom dance class. No previous experience or training is necessary. Dances include foxtrot, swing, waltz, cha cha, tango and others. 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays, May 3 through June 7. Program 460. Free art workshops

Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will offer free art workshops. The workshops are sponsored in part by Washington County Arts Council.

The workshops are:

· Creative collage workshop with Kathryn Lant, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for ages 4 to 7; and 2 to 3:30 p.m. for ages 8 to 12, Saturday, April 26.

· Narrative illustration: bringing works to life with imagery workshop for ages 8 to 14 with Allison Weaver, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31.

· Drawing horses with Chris Copley, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for ages 6 to 9; and 2 to 3 p.m. for ages 10 to 16, Saturday, June 14.
