Good luck, golfers

Good luck to all of the golfers participating in the Williamsport Lions Club's 15th annual Golf Tournament Thursday at Black Rock Golf Course.

All proceeds from the tournament go to support Lions' community projects, including Christmas food baskets and toys for 70 families at Christmas.

This is the game you have been waiting for. The varsity baseball teams from Boonsboro and Williamsport high schools take the field Friday, at 7 p.m. at Hagerstown's Municipal Stadium.

Tickets cost $5 at the gate. Conservit and Enterprise Rent a Car are sponsoring the game.

A note from Councilmember Jeff Cline, Patriotism is still "cool!"

It's no secret that Williamsport has one of the area's "best" Fourth of July celebrations.

The celebration begins with a pancake breakfast with live entertainment throughout the day and ends with a Triple Finale Fireworks Display!

You have probably noticed that each year the town's Fourth of July Fireworks in the Park celebration continues to expand ... and the town needs your help again.

Donations made out to "Town of Williamsport Fireworks 2008" would be greatly appreciated. Please mail them to Councilman Jeff Cline, The Town of Williamsport, 2 N. Conococheague St., P.O. Box 307, Williamsport, MD 21795.
